KANSAI JOURNEY LAB · NO ACCOUNT NEEDED

A plan that bends.
A day that feels yours.

Explore six small decisions before they become big ones. Change a number, see the trade-off, keep the part that matters.

Illustrations and planning arithmetic, not live routing or booking advice. Entries stay in this page and reset on reload.

Six experiments. One more flexible trip.
01 / TRIP THREADS

Follow a decision, not a checklist.

Pick a situation to illuminate useful reading. This is a decision map, not a geographic or rail map.

  1. Your first hour in Kansai ↗
  2. Less luggage. More Kyoto. ↗
  3. Let the forecast change the plan ↗
  4. Station, downtown or Higashiyama? ↗
  5. What will you actually do? ↗
  6. Make it, collect it, carry it ↗
  7. A family day with an easy exit ↗
  8. One part of Nara at a time ↗
  9. Namba, Umeda or somewhere else? ↗
  10. A last day with a clear stopping point ↗

02 / TRY A DIFFERENT DAY

When a delay becomes a decision.

Try a delay against your spare time and one optional stop. Fixed plans are never silently shortened.

How to use this without the tool

Subtract spare time from the delay. If time is still missing, remove the optional stop in full. Any remaining shortfall means the fixed commitments need reconsideration.

03 / TRY A DIFFERENT DAY

Start at departure. Work backward.

Enter Japan local time and values you have checked with your airline and transport provider. Sample values are arithmetic examples, not recommended arrival margins.

How to use this without the tool

Subtract airline lead time, the complete door-to-terminal journey and your buffer from flight departure. Check that transport runs then, especially if the answer falls on an earlier day.

04 / TRY A DIFFERENT DAY

Two people. A shared starting point.

Choose preferred numbers of main stops (1–5). The smaller number becomes the shared plan; the difference stays optional.

How to use this without the tool

Agree on the smaller shared plan, then discuss the optional stops. This is a conversation aid, not a judgment of ability, health or what a child should manage.

05 / TRY A DIFFERENT DAY

Will your creation leave with you?

Use the workshop’s confirmed ready time and your collection deadline. Both dates and times are Japan local time.

How to use this without the tool

Compare ready time with the latest time you can collect. A positive gap is only a window: check opening hours, travel time and packing. If ready time is later, agree on delivery or choose another session.

06 / TRY A DIFFERENT DAY

A question you can show.

Choose a situation and reveal a Japanese question with its English meaning. These cards ask; they never imply the service is available.

How to use this without the tool

For luggage: “チェックイン前に荷物を預けられますか?” means “May I leave my luggage before check-in?” Wait for confirmation and ask about collection conditions.
